Michel Pedrero (Plasencia, Spain) is a Spanish photojournalist and documentary photographer whose work is distinguished by a deeply humanistic and immersive approach to visual storytelling. Working across five continents, he explores themes of identity, culture, and resilience through a refined visual language shaped by natural light, atmosphere, and emotional authenticity.
His work has received international recognition, including honors from the prestigious World Press Photo. In 2026, he was awarded Best Reportage Photographer in the World at the 35AWARDS, one of the world’s largest photography competitions. In the same edition, he also received the award for Best Reportage Photograph and was selected among the competition’s “100 Great Photographers” of the year, alongside further distinctions in portrait and street photography categories.
Pedrero has also been a finalist at The Independent Photographer and was recognized as Photographer of the Week by All About Photo. His images have received multiple distinctions from PhotoVogue, including Best Photo and Pic of the Day selections.
His photographs have been published by internationally renowned media outlets, including National Geographic, The Times, and Vogue, and have been exhibited in major cultural centers such as Paris, London, and New York City. His long-term documentary projects span communities across Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East.
Working under the professional name Wildnomadphoto, Pedrero’s practice extends beyond documentation, seeking to reveal the emotional and cultural essence of the people and places he encounters. Positioned at the intersection of documentary photography and visual anthropology, his work creates images that are both intimate and enduring, offering nuanced perspectives on the diversity of human experience.
